Trump's Role in the Ceasefire

Ceasefire Announcement and Implementation

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Iran and Israel have violated a ceasefire that he personally negotiated for days, expressing his disappointment with the actions of both sides in the conflict.

In a statement to journalists on one of the lawns in front of the White House before his departure to The Hague for the NATO summit, the Republican did not spare criticism of both Tehran and Tel Aviv.

"Both sides don't know what the hell they're doing!" Trump snapped, visibly nervous about the developments in the Middle East.

The Republican said he was"not happy" with the actions of Iran and Israel after the two countries renewed missile attacks on each other, despite the ceasefire announced by Washington a few hours earlier.

In addressing Tehran, the American head of state assured that"Iran will never restore its nuclear program again," referring to the bombings by the United States, and subsequently by Israel, against the leading nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic.

Regarding the ceasefire between the two countries, which Trump described as"historic," it lasted only 18 hours before the two sides resumed hostilities, CNN recalls.
