The explosion occurred around 3:00 p.m. local time in Manuel Maroto Street, in a bar located inside a residential building.

The explosion collapsed part of the adjacent entrance and one of the walls of the bar.

There are 13 members of the Civil Protection in 17 firefighters from the City Council of Madrid.

The police closed the street, and members of the emergency services are still clearing the scene of the explosion.
