Russian Response and Resistance

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to London on Friday for talks with about two dozen European leaders to discuss increased military aid and measures to protect the country from further Russian aggression, writes Associated Press.

The meeting, hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is expected to discuss protecting Ukraine's energy system from near-daily Russian drone and missile attacks, strengthening air defenses, and supplying longer-range missiles to strike strategic targets in Russia.

The talks are also aimed at increasing pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin, given recent US and European sanctions targeting Russia's key oil and gas export revenues. Putin continues to reject proposals for a peaceful settlement, declaring a full-scale invasion"legal."

Zelensky and Starmer are expected to be joined by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Danish and Dutch Prime Ministers Mette Frederiksen and Dick Schoof, and about 20 other leaders will join via video link as part of the so-called"Coalition of the Willing." The main topic of discussion will be a potential "reassuring force" for Ukraine, which would include air and naval support and help in training Ukrainian troops.

The meeting in London is seen as an important step in coordinating Western support for Ukraine ahead of the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Zelensky has already arrived in the British capital. According to" Public ", he met with King Charles at Windsor Castle,

European support for Ukraine

As UNIAN reported, European leaders are stepping up their support for Ukraine, imposing additional sanctions against Russia and pledging to financially and militarily assist Kyiv over the next two years. This persistence is already bearing fruit for Ukraine.

The New York Times writes that Putin's manipulations and Europe's persistence helped Trump finally cause some trouble for Russia.
