On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump explained why he had not yet decided to impose new sanctions on Russia.
Speaking to reporters at the G7 summit, Trump said he was holding off on the decision for now because he first wanted to see if a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia would be signed, News Live reported.
Ukraine on Tuesday strongly criticized the world's failure to"adequately respond" to bloody Russian strikes on its territory that killed at least 14 people in Kyiv.
"This is how Russia wages war - killing civilians in ordinary homes and doing it intentionally," Andriy Yermak, an advisor to the Ukrainian president, wrote on social media.
"This is how autocratic regimes wage war... A nuclear state can simply kill civilians in their homes, refuse to declare a ceasefire, and not receive an appropriate response from the civilized world. Why? And how many more of our people and children must die?"
For the first time in a long time, the Engels-2 air base in Russia's Saratov region, one of the main centers of Russian strategic aviation, is without a single aircraft, according to images from the Sentinel-2 satellite on June 15, NV reports.
The Engels-2 air base was long used to launch Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic bombers during massive missile attacks on Ukraine, as well as operations in Syria. However, the base is now completely abandoned.
Russian occupiers are planning airstrikes on Ukraine's energy system, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, adding that they may be"less visible to the world" as more attention is now focused on the situation in the Middle East.
