Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived at the scene of gunfire targeting passengers on or near a bus in the north of the city. Six people have died, according to Israeli media. Mako reports that at least four of the victims are men, one in his 50s and the other three in their 30s.

According to Israeli police, the two shooters were"neutralized" by bystanders carrying weapons. The roads around the bus stop have been closed off. News outlet N12 also reports that an investigation into a suspicious package is ongoing.

The Shin Bet security service arrested a suspect from East Jerusalem on Monday afternoon who allegedly helped the two gunmen, The Times of Israel reported.

A woman who was on the bus described the attack to Channel 12:"I was on the bus. It was full," she said."The moment the driver opened the door, terrorists came in. It was terrible."

Numerous emergency services responded to the scene, as can be seen in footage on social media. The two gunmen reportedly boarded the bus at a bus stop and then began shooting. One of the passengers on the bus, an armed soldier, reportedly neutralized the two, according to the Israeli media outlet Mako.

The perpetrators are believed to be"Palestinians from the West Bank," according to Israeli police. According to media reports, the Israeli army raided their homes in the Palestinian city of Ramallah on Monday after the shooting.

Fadi Dekaidek, one of the first responders on the scene, was shocked:"We arrived quickly and began providing medical aid to the victims. The wounded lay on the road and sidewalk near a bus stop, some of them unconscious." A United Hatzalah aid worker told N12 that several victims were found unconscious on the sidewalk.
