Former Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt and the Arab League, Dr. Barakat Al-Farra, asserted that the UN General Assembly's resolution to move forward with the declaration of a Palestinian state and the two-state solution proves that the occupying state of Israel has become isolated and diplomatically ostracized by most countries around the world.

Al-Farra told the Middle East News Agency on Friday evening that even some of Israel's closest friends, such as Germany and the Netherlands, supported the resolution, indicating Israel's unprecedented isolation. All of these countries believe that there can be no peace or stability in the region without a two-state solution, he added.

He added: The problem is that we are dealing with a state that does not care about anyone and does not take any party into account because the United States supports it with money and weapons.

He expressed his hope that the resolution would contribute to concrete steps to thwart Israel's attempts to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza and annex the West Bank, noting that the support of 142 countries for this resolution is an indication that they will not be partners in the crime of displacement and that they may also take positions on Israel's attempts to annex the West Bank, whether by rejecting this project or not dealing with any Israeli product coming from the West Bank, considering it occupied territory. He noted the European Union's positions on this matter.

He pointed out that there was a previous resolution issued by the Security Council regarding settlements in the West Bank, which explicitly states that all settlements are legally invalid and not recognized.

He praised Egypt's supportive stance towards the Palestinian people and its rejection of the displacement of the people of Gaza, describing Egypt's position as a cornerstone of the Arab stance supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and rejecting displacement plans.

He warned of Israel's ambitions in the region, as seen in Syria and Lebanon, calling for greater Arab cooperation to confront Israeli plans in the region.
