247 - The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, defended in a speech during a far-right demonstration in Paulista Avenue this Sunday (7) the amnesty for extremists who tried to carry out a coup d'état in the country on January 8, in addition to defending that Jair Bolsonaro contest the 2026 electoral contest. The former president is ineligible to contest elections after a ruling by the TSE.
Tarcísio didn't hold back in his attacks on the Supreme Federal Court. Citing Alexandre de Moraes, he used terms like"tyrant," "dictatorship of one power over another," and said that Brazil "will soon have its political prisoners released after the amnesty."
Furthermore, he defended during several passages of his speech that Hugo Motta accept the processing of the amnesty bill.
Tarcísio also used part of his speech demanding that the passport of evangelical businessman Silas Malafaia be returned, in addition to personal notebooks seized by the PF (Federal Police).
