2,500 personnel... The US National Guard tightens its grip on Washington

Thursday, November 27

Cairo News Channel reported that the US capital, Washington, currently looks more like a small military barracks, in light of the deployment of an additional 500 National Guard members, bringing the total number to 2,500.

Washington is a small city compared to other American cities, but the presence of this large number of troops, along with law enforcement forces deployed around the White House, makes the scene suggest a clear state of security tension.

The investigation team continues its intensive work, examining every small detail at the crime scene in search of any clue that may help uncover the circumstances of the incident.

Cairo News indicated that the suspect's motives are still unknown, despite the authorities being able to identify him and learn much of his information.

Records indicate that the suspect had cooperated with US forces in Afghanistan for 10 years, according to a relative, and then arrived in the United States in 2021 during the administration of former President Joe Biden, under the"Welcome Allies and Collaborators" program for certain nationalities that have provided support to US forces.

He was later granted asylum last April and resided in Washington state before driving for hours to the capital. Investigators are seeking to determine the true motive behind the attack and whether it was linked to an ideological background or possible connections with foreign entities abroad, which is the focus of the ongoing investigations.
