Washington. U.S. President Donald Trump signed his signature budget bill into law on Friday, capping a pompous Independence Day ceremony at the White House marked by a flyover of B-2 bombers, the planes used to attack Iran.

"It's a great time," he said, signing the document with a thick marker, surrounded by dozens of Republican lawmakers who had lined up to support his"Big, Beautiful Act," as he called it."We've entered the golden age of America," he asserted.

The president celebrated the signing of his bill into law with a speech at the White House on Independence Day.

He stood alongside first lady Melania Trump on the White House balcony as she described his second term as “winner, winner, winner.”

The signing ceremony will finalize controversial legislation that will provide tax cuts to the wealthy and slash Medicaid benefits and food assistance programs.

The bill narrowly passed the House of Representatives by 218 to 214 on Thursday, and a “big, beautiful signing ceremony” is planned for the Oval Office on Friday night.

However, Trump risks being overshadowed by the “Free America” protests being planned in cities across the country.

This comes after the president was heavily criticized for using a historically anti-Semitic term during a recent event, which activist groups have described as “extremely offensive” and “dangerous.”

While delivering a campaign speech during the America 250 event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Thursday, just hours after the House passed the bill, the president lashed out at"shylocks" and "bad people."

“The term 'Shylock' evokes a centuries-old anti-Semitic cliché about Jews and greed, which is extremely offensive and dangerous. President Trump’s use of the term is deeply troubling and irresponsible,” ADF wrote in X. “The words of our leaders matter, and we expect more from the President of the United States.”
