Russian forces destroy dozens of Ukrainian drone posts, 8 Starlink terminals in one day

Sunday, July 27

Russian battlegroups destroyed 53 drone control posts and eight Starlink satellite stations during their operations in Ukraine over the past 24 hours, reports say.

Russia’s Battlegroup East destroyed eight US-made Starlink satellite stations and 13 Ukrainian UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) control posts over the past 24 hours in the special military operation in Ukraine, Battlegroup East spokesman Alexander Gordeyev told TASS on Sunday.

“During the last 24-hour period, the enemy lost an estimated 190 personnel, an armored combat vehicle, eight motor vehicles, eight Starlink satellite communications stations, and 13 UAV control posts,” Gordeyev added.

In the past 24 hours, Battlegroup East units kept advancing deep into the enemy’s defenses and inflicted losses on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades and a marine infantry brigade of the Ukrainian army, he added.

Battlegroup Group West Spokesman Leonid Sharov also told TASS on Sunday that they inflicted more than 220 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 41 enemy UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) control posts over the past 24 hours in the special military operation in Ukraine.

“In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to over 220 personnel, three armored combat vehicles, a self-propelled artillery system, 13 mortars, 11 motor vehicles, and two robotic systems,” Sharov said.

“Air defense units destroyed 25 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. Also, 41 UAV control posts, four ammunition depots and two electronic warfare stations of the Ukrainian army were destroyed.”

Sharov added that Battlegroup West units improved their forward positions and inflicted losses on formations of three mechanized brigades, an assault brigade of the Ukrainian arm,y and a territorial defense brigade in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions.

The latest development comes as Russia said on Saturday that its forces had captured two more villages in eastern Ukraine, with Kiev reporting on the same day repelling multiple Russian offensives.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in its weekly report that Zeleny Gai in the Donetsk region and Malievka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast had come under Russia’s control.

Russia’s air defenses down over a dozen Ukrainian drones heading to Moscow

According to the report, Russia’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed five “HIMARS” rockets and 257 drones deployed by the Ukrainian forces.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its battlefield updates that 69 combat engagements had occurred along the front lines as of Saturday afternoon, with the Ukrainian forces repelling dozens of Russian offensives.

Ukraine’s national news agency, citing sources from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), said the SBU carried out a strike with long-range drones on a radio and electronic warfare equipment manufacturing facility in Stavropol, southwestern Russia.

Russia launched its special military operation in February 2022, citing the need to counter NATO expansion and what it called the spread of Nazi ideology.

Since then, US-led Western military aid to Ukraine has intensified the conflict, drawing sharp criticism from Moscow, which maintains that a continued flow of weapons to Kiev only serves to prolong the war.
