President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the anti-corruption infrastructure would work, but without Russian influence. This statement was made in evening address heads of state.
"I spoke with the head of NABU Semen Kryvonos, SAPO prosecutor Oleksandr Klymenko, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk - various challenges. We discussed all this. The anti-corruption infrastructure will work. Only without Russian influences - everything needs to be cleaned of this. And there should be more justice," he emphasized.
Zelensky added that both the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will operate. According to him, the Prosecutor General"is determined to ensure that in Ukraine the inevitability of punishment for those who go against the law is actually ensured."
"And this is what Ukraine really needs. Cases that have been pending must be investigated. For years, officials who fled Ukraine have been living peacefully abroad for some reason - in very pleasant countries and without legal consequences. This is abnormal. There is no rational explanation why criminal proceedings worth billions have been"hanging" for years. And there is no explanation why Russians can still receive the information they need. It is important that without Russians. It is important that there is an inevitability of punishment and that society really sees this," the president stated.
