CHELSEA IS CONCLUDED WORLD CLUB CHAMPION!
The Blues beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to be crowned Club World Cup 2025 champions. In front of an impressive MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Enzo Maresca's team thrashed PSG from start to finish and won the international tournament thanks to a double from Cole Palmer and a goal from João Pedro.
The British side deployed a perfect tactical system to completely nullify the reigning UEFA Champions League champions: man-to-man marking, periods of suffocating pressure, and lethal counterattacks. In this way, they remarkably defeated a PSG that was unrecognizable, due to the fact that they were never able to express their associative play and failed to make their characteristic offensive voracity felt.
Chelsea scored all three goals in the first 45 minutes. Cole Palmer, who was voted the final's MVP, thrived under the pressure of being one of the team's key figures and delivered two similar goals: a low finish over the goalkeeper's right post. The 3-0 came from João Pedro, who was one-on-one with Gianluigi Donnarumma and chipped it.
PSG didn't react in a second half in which the English team controlled the pace. João Neves was sent off after pulling Marc Cucurella's hair. Just after the match ended, there was a tense moment in which both teams had a heated argument. Chelsea thus became the champions of the first 32-team edition of the 2025 Club World Cup. 9:08 PM Today
