According to The Telegraph, 110,000 people have gathered in central London for a demonstration organized by far-right Tommy Robinson.

It is expected to be the largest far-right demonstration in the country in decades. Among the placards are messages such as"Send them home" and "Stop the boats."

"Today, London stands strong in defense of one of our most fundamental rights – freedom of expression," Robinson wrote on X ahead of the demonstration.

Bannon is going to get there.

Tommy Robinson has used the shooting death of Charlie Kirk to rally support for the demonstration. Among others, Steven Bannon, former advisor to US President Donald Trump, and a representative of the far-right German AfD will give speeches, writes The Guardian.

At the same time, around 5,000 counter-protesters have gathered in a"march against fascism"."Refugees Welcome" is one of the words on their placards.

The police have been attacked

At least 1,600 police officers are monitoring the demonstrations and trying to keep the groups apart.

The police write on X that they have been attacked by protesters from the Tommy Robinson demonstration who have tried to get through the barriers and get to the anti-fascist protesters. According to the police, the far-right protesters have thrown bottles at the counter-demonstrators.

Films show how the police try to push back the protesters with their shields.

The police have called for reinforcements and deployed horses.

At 6 p.m., the police announce that nine people have been arrested for several different crimes, while the police are still being attacked.

"But many more than that have been identified when they committed crimes. We will find them," writes the Metropolitan Police on X.
