President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmö Stenergard in Uzhhorod. The parties discussed joint defense projects.

The head of state announced this in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Maria Malmer Stenergard, we discussed joint defense projects and the needs of our soldiers. She is in Uzhhorod today, and this is her second visit to Ukraine. Thank you for your personal support of our state," he wrote.

Zelenskyy clarified that the meeting also discussed continued assistance to Ukraine, the preparation of a new defense package, the PURL initiative, the protection of Ukrainian skies, investments in Ukrainian drone production, and the prospects for joint defense projects.

"I am grateful to the people of Sweden, the government, and the Prime Minister for helping our people from the very beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion," the President noted.

At the same time, the website of the President's Office added that the parties discussed the possibility of increasing investments in Ukrainian drone production and the prospects for joint defense projects. They agreed to work on this issue and take steps to increase the forces of both states. For his part, the head of state expressed gratitude for the $4 billion in defense support this year from Sweden.

"This is really very serious help. The Prime Minister also told me that you will be among those leaders who decided to provide Ukraine with security guarantees. We appreciate this very much, thank you," he noted.

As Ukrinform reported, in Transcarpathia, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a bilateral meeting with President of the European Council Antonio Costa.
