US President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the transfer of two nuclear submarines to regions near Russia. He is responding to statements by former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. He announced this on his social network Truth Social.
It turns out why Putin could make a fool of Trump:

"I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be stationed in the relevant regions in case these foolish and provocative statements are more than just a provocation. Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those cases," he wrote.
Donald Trump has criticized Vladimir Putin's refusal to end the war in Ukraine. He gave Russia an ultimatum - initially 50 days, later mentioning a reduction to 10-12 days. He also threatened to impose 100 percent secondary tariffs. Trump confirmed his impatience with Putin's indecision in an interview with the BBC.
"We have a great conversation (with Putin). I say, 'That's good, I think we're close to a deal.' And then he destroys a building in Kiev," the US president complained at the time.
Medvedev responded to Trump's ultimatum on the social network X.
"Trump gave the Kremlin a theatrical ultimatum. The world trembled and expected the consequences. A belligerent Europe was disappointed. Russia didn't care," he wrote in a short post.
Ultimatums can bring war
The US president later mentioned that he was considering shortening the deadline to 10 to 12 days. He said this before talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"I am disappointed in President Putin, very disappointed. I will reduce the 50 days I gave him to a smaller number," he said at the time. He also added that there was no point in waiting and that he would announce the deadline soon. According to him, they had been close to concluding an agreement five times.
"I've talked to President Putin a lot, I get along very well with him. But Putin goes out and starts launching missiles at some city, like Kiev, and kills a lot of people in nursing homes or somewhere, bodies are lying in the street," Trump added.
Medvedev told Trump via social media that he was playing a game of ultimatums that could lead to war.
"Trump is playing an ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10... He should realize two things: 1. Russia is not Israel or even Iran. 2. Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don't go the way of Sleepy Joe!" he wrote mockingly.
The American president was angered by the message and sent him another message on his social network:"Tell Medvedev, this failed former president of Russia who thinks he is still the president, to watch his tongue. He is entering very dangerous territory!" he wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social.
The former Russian president took Trump's reaction as confirmation that Russia was right."If some statements by the former Russian president cause such a nervous reaction in this fear-mongering US president, it means that Russia is right in everything and will continue on its own path," Medvedev said on the Telegram social network.
