Suspect in the murder of a member of parliament, former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy confessed to the crime during the first interrogations. This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.
In particular, the suspect said that in 2023 he learned from his son's brothers that he had gone missing in the Bakhmut direction. After that, the suspect began to monitor Russian social networks to find information about his son's fate. Later, he began to communicate with unidentified representatives of the Russian Federation, who informed him of his son's death.
According to the suspect, the Russian representatives in the conversation allegedly justified Russia's actions in the war against Ukraine and, on the contrary, accused the Ukrainian authorities of starting it. The suspect himself told the Russians that he lives in Lviv and has repeatedly seen Andriy Parubiy.
Then, during the conversation with the Russian representatives, the suspect began preparing for the murder: he obtained a weapon, purchased equipment - a bicycle and a helmet, and also bought a car using forged documents, in which he followed the politician. The suspect told all this information during the first interrogations of the suspect - it is currently being verified by the investigation.
The murder of Andriy Parubiy: what is known
