Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be forced to conclude agreement regarding a ceasefire with Russia. This was stated by US President Donald Trump, quoted Clash Report.
"Zelensky and Putin hate each other. So it seems I will have to sit in the same room with them, because they cannot be together, the hatred is too strong," he emphasized.
The American leader also stated that European countries should stop buying oil from Russia.
"They (European countries - UNIAN) are talking about it, but they need to stop," Trump stressed.
War in Ukraine - other statements by Trump
Previously Donald Trump first called Russia an aggressor in the war against Ukraine. According to Politico, this statement demonstrates a change in his position towards Moscow.
"This week, 8,000 soldiers from both countries died. A little more from Russia, but when you're the aggressor, you lose more," the US president stressed.
It was also reported that Trump gave Europe an ultimatum regarding sanctions against Russia. According to him, further US steps on the issue of sanctions will depend on whether European countries strengthen their own restrictive measures.
"Listen, Europe is my friend, but they buy oil from Russia. So we can't expect us to be the only ones operating at full capacity. I don't want them buying oil," Trump said.
