US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he has ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to appropriate areas following provocative comments by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in the appropriate areas, just in case these reckless and incendiary statements prove to be more than that. Words are very important and can often have unintended consequences. I hope this is not one of those cases, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

In a recent message on the social network X, Medvedev, currently the second in command on the country's Security Council , wrote that each new ultimatum from Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine was a threat and a step towards war with the United States.
