The world's attention has once again focused on Washington. In the White House on the night of Monday to Tuesday, Donald Trump negotiated with figures of the highest rank in European politics - about peace in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Oval Office two days after Trump's meeting with Vladimir Putin. And with him were the heads of state of Germany, Italy, France and Finland. The head of NATO and the president of the European Commission were also present.
A few hours after the meeting, it was not entirely clear what came of it. Trump promised security guarantees to the Ukrainians in the event of peace - but what exactly that means, we still have no idea. The second news is that the most powerful man in the world wants Putin and Zelensky to meet in the coming days and weeks.
We talked about what the meeting showed and what to expect next with expert Jana KOBZOVA, who works as an analyst at the European Council on Foreign Relations. She also worked as a foreign policy advisor to President Zuzana Čaputová in the past. Kobzová is the wife of MP Tomáš Valášek (PS).
"Trump's great advantage and weakness is unpredictability. It is also unpredictability towards the Russians, and the opposite is also true," the expert says in an interview with the Aktuality.sk portal.
