Trump's Strategic Approach

President of the United States Donald Trump did not directly answer whether he would provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked him for. The video with the statement was published on the Telegram channel Clash Report .

"Zelensky wants Tomahawks, the US has a large stockpile of these missiles. Do you need these missiles in Argentina?" the White House chief decided to joke during a press conference at the White House.

The US president also noted Russia's"successes" in the war it launched against Ukraine.

"Vladimir Putin should have won that war in a week, and it's been going on for four years," Trump said.

According to the US president, the Russian economy is on the verge of collapse, while the Kremlin leader does not want to end the war in Ukraine. He added that Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine amount to 1.5 million soldiers. At the same time, the American leader clarified that these figures are approximate and take into account those Russians who lost limbs at the front.

"This is a terrible war. This is the biggest event since World War II," he noted.

Trump added that in terms of the number of people killed, the war in Ukraine is the largest of all that Trump has managed. He recalled that he has already helped end 8 wars in the world.

Therefore, Trump added, he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and, of course, they will discuss the issue of arms transfers, in particular, Tomahawk missiles.

Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine: latest news

UNIAN previously reported that self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko warned US leader Donald Trump that the US transfer of subsonic Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine would mean"nuclear war." In his opinion, these missiles will not solve the problem, but will only escalate the situation. Lukashenko suggested that Trump understands this, which is why he is in no hurry to transfer these deadly weapons for deep strikes on Russian territory.

We also wrote that the spokesman for the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Kremlin welcomes US intentions to focus on resolving the war in Ukraine. He recalled that representatives of the Russian leadership are familiar with Vitkoff, and noted his"effectiveness in the Middle East." Peskov expressed hope that the talents of Trump's special representative will continue to contribute to the Ukrainian direction.
