The spokeswoman for US President Donald Trump, Caroline Leavitt, revealed at a White House press conference how the leader reacted to the Russian attack on Kiev which killed at least 21 people, including four children. 

When asked by reporters how the White House views the attack and whether it considers Vladimir Putin an obstacle to peace, Leavitt replied that Trump is"not happy, but not surprised either."

"These are two countries that have been at war for a very long time. Russia launched this attack on Kiev, and Ukraine also recently attacked Russian oil refineries," Leavitt said.

She recalled Trump's earlier statements that he wanted the war to end, but that"the leaders of the two countries must want the same." She added: "Maybe both sides of this war are not yet ready to end it."

At least 19 people, including four children, were killed and another 48 wounded in Russia's 13-hour attack on Kiev and almost all areas of Ukraine, including those far from the frontline.

Let us remind you that this morning, in airstrikes against Kiev, Russia hit the building where the EU delegation is located in the Ukrainian capital, causing significant damage to the building.
