Trump: The US will continue nuclear tests
US President Donald Trump said that the United States will continue nuclear tests, not excluding the possibility of underground tests.
Trump did not directly answer questions from reporters aboard the presidential jet en route to Florida about whether it would involve the traditional underground nuclear tests that were common during the Cold War.
"You will find out soon, but we will do some tests," said the head of the White House.
Trump announced yesterday that he had ordered the US military to immediately restart the process of testing nuclear weapons after a 33-year hiatus.

This is Ukraine's new nightmare
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russian drones-kamikazes of the Geran-2 (Shahid) type have become one of the most important and immediate threats to the country, while at the same time it is facing coordinated Russian strikes on key energy facilities.
The combination of intense rocket attacks and waves of drones is putting a significant strain on Kiev's defense capabilities and creating a multidimensional security crisis.
Zelensky assessed that Geran drones, due to their irregular and difficult-to-predict trajectory, are in many cases more dangerous than classic ballistic missiles.

This year, Ukraine carried out 160 attacks on Russian oil facilities
This year, Ukraine carried out almost 160 successful attacks on Russian oil extraction and processing facilities, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), General Vasyl Malyuk, told reporters today.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky estimated on Monday that Russia lost more than 20 percent of its oil processing capacity due to those attacks.
The Ukrainian attacks led to a rise in the prices of oil derivatives in Russia.
Maljuk also said that more than a year ago, Ukrainian forces destroyed the Russian medium-range ballistic missile"Oreshnik" on the Kapustin Yar launch site in the Astrakhan region, in the southwest of Russia.
AFP was unable to independently confirm this information.
An SBU spokesman told AFP that the missile was destroyed"in the hangar" on the night of July 8-9, 2024, when it was"almost ready" for launch.
At the time, Russian media reported drone attacks in the area, with local authorities saying more than 20 had been shot down.
In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow had begun mass production of the Oreshnik, a next-generation hypersonic weapon capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
In November 2024, Russia used this weapon for the first time, but without a nuclear warhead, with which it hit a military factory in the city of Dnipro, in central Ukraine.
