Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi affirmed on Thursday that"the ceasefire agreement is not a favor from anyone, but rather the fruit of the legendary steadfastness shown by our people, especially the mujahidin in Gaza, and the result of the great sacrifices and heroism that created the epic of October 7, 2023."

The Palestinian Quds Network quoted Mardawi today as saying,"What the occupation was unable to impose through genocide and starvation, it failed to extract at the negotiating table."

He added: "Netanyahu and his fascist government have failed to displace our people, who remain on their land awaiting the return of the rest of their diaspora. They have also failed to forcibly recover their captives and break our resistance. They will fail to impose their agendas and plans on our land and holy sites."

He stressed that "Gaza (the invaders' graveyard) triumphed through its steadfastness and unity, and imposed its will on the arrogant enemy."
