Pete Hegseth attended a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels on Wednesday. In the afternoon, the American Secretary of War flew out of the Belgian capital on a government plane.

Once over the Atlantic and passing Ireland, the plane unexpectedly turned around, heading back towards Great Britain. The change in flight path could be tracked on Flight Radar.

"If we have to take that step, the U.S. War Department is ready to contribute in a way that only the United States can," he said.

Hegseth argued that although the war did not begin during Donald Trump's presidency, it will end during his term."Let's seize this moment, let's decisively build peace in Ukraine and establish peace through force," the Minister of War declared.
