A security guard was injured with a bladed weapon at a Zurich nightclub early Sunday morning. Shortly after 3:40 a.m., the Zurich Protection & Rescue service received a report that an employee had been stabbed. Emergency responders arrived immediately and found a 34-year-old man with stab wounds in his back. After receiving initial treatment at the scene, he was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Intensive investigations by the Zurich cantonal police led to the suspected perpetrator, a 26-year-old Swiss man, who was arrested without resistance at his residence in the canton of Aargau. The exact sequence of events is still unclear; the investigations by the Zurich cantonal police and the public prosecutor's office are ongoing.
In addition to the Zurich cantonal police, the Aargau cantonal police, the Zurich Forensic Institute (FOR), the See/Oberland public prosecutor's office, the Zurich Protection & Rescue service, an emergency doctor from the Bülach hospital and the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IRM) were also involved in the operation.
