"Total occupation of Gaza, decision made": Netanyahu's announcement. "The IDF chief isn't happy with this? He should resign."

Monday, August 4

“We will fully occupy the Gaza Strip. The decision has been made,” a senior official in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office told Channel 12. “Hamas will not release any more hostages without a full surrender, and we will not surrender. If we don’t act now, the hostages will starve to death and Gaza will remain under Hamas control,” he said. Other officials, Ynet reported, added that “there will also be activities in the areas where the hostages are being held.” “And if this is not good for the head of state major of the IDF, he can also resign ,” they concluded.

“Trump gives green light” – And US President Donald Trump has reportedly given Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the green light “to launch a military operation against Hamas,” according to what Ynet adds: “Israel and Washington agree that Hamas does not want an deal.”

The raids – Israel is therefore preparing to launch its total occupation of the Strip. All this while the raids continue: at least 56 people, including 27 queuing for aid, have been killed in Israeli attacks since dawn today, Gaza health sources told Al Jazeera.

Drone strikes aid workers – At least five civilians were killed and seven others were injured in an Israeli drone strike on a group of aid workers at Al-Tawam roundabout in the northern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. Wafa news agency reported that the wounded were rushed to nearby hospitals, many of them in critical condition. In a separate attack, a resident of Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip died from wounds sustained during an earlier Israeli air strike in the same area. Meanwhile, a nurse at Al-Aqsa Hospital also died after being directly hit by aid boxes dropped from the aircraft in the Al-Zawaida area. The heavy boxes fell directly on the man as he was helping distribute aid. Medical sources said the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 60,939, most of them women and children, with nearly 150,027 injuries reported since October 7, 2023. Ambulance and civil defense teams are struggling to reach hundreds of victims trapped under the rubble, due to the ongoing bombardment and lack of resources.
