Supreme Court sentences Bolsonaro to more than 27 years in prison

247 - Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), defended this Thursday (11) that former president Jair Bolsonaro should be sentenced to prison for a total of 27 years and 3 months, after the defendant was convicted in the First Panel of the STF for leading the criminal organization that tried to overthrow the government elected in 2022.

The sentence must initially be served in a closed regime, said Moraes.

In addition, Bolsonaro will be fined 124 days worth two minimum wages, according to Moraes.

Moraes requested 24 years and nine months of imprisonment and 2 years and six months of detention.
