The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in October, and the official announcement of the winner is made that same month.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in Washington that he has nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and handed the US president a letter he sent to the committee for the prestigious award.
“He is forging peace as we speak, in one country, in one region after another,” Netanyahu said during a dinner with Trump at the White House.
The US president has received multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominations over the years from loyal supporters and lawmakers, and has not hidden his irritation at not winning the award.
The president has complained that the Norwegian Nobel Committee has overlooked his mediating role in the conflicts between India and Pakistan, as well as between Serbia and Kosovo.
He has also claimed credit for “keeping the peace” between Egypt and Ethiopia, and for negotiating the Abraham Accords, a series of pacts aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and several Arab countries.
Trump campaigned as a "peacemaker" who would use his negotiating skills to quickly end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, even though both conflicts continue more than five months into his presidency.

During the meeting, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Hamas is willing to agree to a truce with Israel to push for an end to the war in Gaza.
“They want to meet, and they want to have that cease-fire,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked if clashes involving Israeli soldiers would derail the talks.
Trump was nominated by a number of conservative politicians, primarily European. One of the best known was Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a Norwegian parliamentarian from the right-wing Progress Party, who nominated him in 2020 for his role in the normalization agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (Abraham Accords). This parliamentarian had previously nominated Trump in 2018 for his diplomatic efforts with North Korea.
Being nominated does not mean you're a finalist or a winner, as hundreds of nominations are received each year from authorized individuals.
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded through a rigorous and confidential process conducted by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, based in Oslo, Norway.
Unlike the other Nobel Prizes, which are awarded in Sweden, the Peace Prize is the only one awarded in Norway, as stipulated by Alfred Nobel in his will.
