The Israeli cabinet's approval of a plan to seize control of Gaza City as part of a broader plan to occupy the entire Strip has sparked Arab, Islamic, and international condemnation, with some considering it a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and a disregard for international legitimacy resolutions.
Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the decision of the Israeli Cabinet to develop a plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip. This plan aims to consolidate Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, continue its war of extermination in Gaza, eliminate all aspects of life for the Palestinian people, undermine their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, and liquidate the Palestinian cause. This is a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, Egypt reiterated that Israel's continued policy of starvation, systematic killing, and genocide against the defenseless Palestinian people will only fuel the conflict, further escalate tensions, deepen hatred, and spread extremism in the region. This has already been exacerbated by the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe it has caused there.
It called on the international community, including the Security Council and all concerned parties, to assume their political, legal, and moral responsibilities and take urgent action to halt Israel's policy of arrogance and power-grabbing, which aims to impose a fait accompli by force, undermine the chances of achieving peace, and destroy the prospects for a two-state solution.
Egypt reiterated that Israel and the region will not enjoy security or stability unless a Palestinian state is established along the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Saudi Arabia condemns the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to occupy the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to occupy the Gaza Strip, categorically condemning their continued perpetration of starvation, brutal practices, and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement:"The inhumane ideas and decisions adopted by the Israeli occupation authorities without restraint reaffirm that they do not understand the emotional, historical, and legal connection of the Palestinian people to this land, and that the Palestinian people have a right to it, based on international law and humanitarian principles."
The Kingdom warned that the continued failure of the international community and the Security Council to immediately halt Israeli attacks and violations undermines the foundations of the international order and international legitimacy, threatens regional and global peace and security, and portends dire consequences that encourage genocide and forced displacement.
Jordan condemns Israel's plan to seize control of Gaza City
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the plan approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet, which aims to consolidate its occupation of the Gaza Strip and expand its military control over it completely. The plan is considered a continuation of Israel's gross violations of international law and international humanitarian law, and a clear undermining of the two-state solution and the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom's rejection and strong condemnation of this plan, which is an extension of the Israeli government's extremist policy of using starvation and siege as weapons against the Palestinian people, in addition to its persistence in the systematic targeting of civilian objects, hospitals, and schools, in clear violation of legitimate resolutions and the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
He pointed out that complete military control over the Gaza Strip undermines international efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement and ending the humanitarian suffering in the Strip. He stressed the need for Israel, the occupying power, to comply with its obligations under international law, particularly international humanitarian law, and to immediately halt its aggression against Gaza and open the crossings to allow the entry of sufficient and immediate aid into the Strip, which is suffering from an unprecedented humanitarian disaster caused and exacerbated by the aggression.
He reiterated the Kingdom's support for the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States aimed at achieving a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and providing adequate and immediate aid to the Gaza Strip.
Ambassador Al-Qudah called on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and to take an effective stance to immediately halt the Israeli aggression against Gaza and fulfill the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their national soil, as the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
Kuwait condemns Israel's plan to seize control of Gaza City
The State of Kuwait expressed its condemnation and categorical rejection of the decision taken by the Israeli Security Cabinet to take control of Gaza City, as part of a broader plan to occupy the entire Strip, in flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and in disregard of international legitimacy resolutions.
Kuwait affirmed, according to a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, that the Israeli decision undermines the chances of achieving a two-state solution and obstructs the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
She renewed her call on the Security Council and the international community to assume their responsibilities by halting these inhumane practices, opening the crossings to allow sufficient and immediate aid into the Gaza Strip, and ending Israel's policy of starvation and ethnic cleansing.
International rejection of Israel's plan to seize control of Gaza City
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described Israel's decision to seize Gaza City as part of a broader plan to occupy the entire territory as wrong and urged it to reconsider the decision immediately.
Starmer said in a statement that this measure will not contribute to ending this conflict or ensuring the release of the hostages; rather, it will lead to further bloodshed.
He added that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening daily, noting that there is a need for a ceasefire, increased humanitarian aid, the release of detainees, and a negotiated solution.
He pointed out that the United Kingdom is working with its allies on a long-term plan to achieve peace in the region within the framework of a two-state solution, and that a diplomatic solution is possible, but both parties must avoid the path of destruction.
For her part, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wang called on the Israeli government not to implement its plan to occupy Gaza City and expand its aggression against the Strip.
Wang explained, according to a statement today, that the Israeli plan will exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, stressing that forced displacement is a violation of international law. She emphasized the need for a ceasefire and the unimpeded flow of aid, and emphasized that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve lasting peace.
