President Donald Trump will end his participation in the Group of Seven (G7) Summit due to the situation in the Middle East.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the U.S. president signed a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

"Much has been accomplished, but due to the situation in the Middle East, President (Donald) Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with the heads of state," he wrote on his X account.

Trump and Sheinbaum would meet at the G7 Summit

This Monday, June 16, President Claudia Sheinbaum arrived in Canada to participate in the meeting where she will hold bilateral talks.

Among the meetings, the conversation scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, stands out. It would be the first time the two leaders would speak face-to-face after seven phone calls.

Sheinbaum's G7 agenda remains unchanged without a meeting with Trump.

Following Donald Trump's changes, President Claudia Sheinbaum will maintain her agenda of activities at this high-level meeting.

The Presidential Communications Coordination announced that the president will meet with heads of state on Tuesday, June 17.

Sheinbaum's participation in the G7 will begin with the official summit photo at 11:20 a.m. She will then hold a trilateral meeting with the European Council and the European Commission, while from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m. she will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At 1:00 p.m., he will participate in the Group of Seven plenary session. Afterward, he will meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. At 5:40 p.m., he will meet for half an hour with the host, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, thus concluding his participation in the G7.

Here's a list of meetings Donald Trump has canceled for Tuesday:

1. With Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba

– Negotiations on tariffs on Japanese cars (25%) were to continue during a meeting on the sidelines of the G7.

2. With Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

– Topics such as the AUKUS pact, trade tariffs, and defense were scheduled to be discussed. His early departure disrupts that dialogue.

3. With Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum

– It was to meet for the first time to discuss remittances, migration, and trade, in a trilateral format with Canada.

4. With Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy

– They had a meeting scheduled to discuss the acquisition of a military defense package.

– A discussion on EU-US relations, including the issue of tariffs, was planned.
