President of the United States Donald Trump declared his readiness to impose serious sanctions against Russia, but named two conditions: NATO countries must also do so, and also stop buying oil from Russia. This is stated in the"Letter sent by President Donald J. Trump to all NATO countries and the world", posted on the social network Truth Social.
"I am ready to impose serious sanctions on Russia when all NATO countries agree and begin to do the same, and also when all NATO countries stop buying oil from Russia," the head of the White House wrote.
According to him,"the purchase of Russian oil by some countries" significantly weakens "their negotiating position and influence over Russia."
"In any case, I'm ready to act when you're ready. Just tell me when?" the US president asked.
He stressed that NATO at the Alliance level should also introduce tariffs against China in the amount of 50-100%, which"will be completely canceled after the end of Russia's war against Ukraine." In his opinion, this"will significantly help to end this deadly but absurd war."
"China has strong control and even influence over Russia, and these powerful tariffs will break that influence. This is not Trump's war (it would never have started if I were president!), this is Biden's war (former US President Joe Biden, - ed. ) and Zelensky (President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, - ed."I'm only here to help stop it and save thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives (7,118 lives lost last week alone. Crazy!)," Trump's post reads.
The US President assured that if NATO does as he says,"the war will end quickly, and all these lives will be saved":
"If not, you are simply wasting my time, as well as the time, energy, and money of the United States. Thank you for your attention to this issue!"

As UNIAN previously reported, The US will impose sanctions against a number of global companies that supply goods to Russia. The United States Department of Commerce published their list and announced that a virtually complete ban on the export of their goods to the United States will be introduced from September 16. The new restrictions include 23 companies from China, three from Turkey, two from the UAE, and one each from India, Iran, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Also EU countries extended sanctions against Moscow, which were imposed due to the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, said the head of the European Union's diplomacy, Kaia Kallas. In addition, according to her, the bloc has almost completed work on the 19th package of restrictions on the aggressor country. This package considered"additional sanctions on the sale of Russian oil, shadow oil tankers and banks."
