Analysis and Commentary on UN Resolution

In its final communiqué concluding the work of its 46th session, held in the capital of Bahrain, the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) also welcomed Resolution 2797 adopted by the United Nations Security Council on October 31, 2025, which enshrines the autonomy initiative as an important step towards achieving a realistic and achievable solution.

The Council also welcomed King Mohammed VI’s decision to submit this initiative to the UN Security Council and to decree October 31 of each year as a National Day under the name Unity Day.

This position is consistent with the constant and firm support of the GCC States for the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and its sovereignty over all of its territory.
