Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed her joy on her Telegram channel that Russia is no longer subject to extremely strict isolation conditions and that Putin is being welcomed very warmly in the West.
"The Western media is in a state of what can be called madness, which is turning into complete madness: for three years they talked about Russia's isolation, and today they saw the red carpet on which the USA welcomed the Russian president," Zakharova said.
By the end of the summit, Russian media outlets were providing relatively neutral coverage, likely awaiting instructions from the Kremlin.
For example, as soon as it ended, one of Russia's loudest"nightingales" Margarita Simonyan limited herself to a laconic comment: "It's all over, thank God."
However, on Saturday, all the channels were buzzing with praise for the war criminal Putin.
Although no agreements were reached during the talks, Russian propagandists are calling the meeting a"complete diplomatic victory for Putin."
One of the so-called "Z bloggers" – Julia Vityazeva – was also happy about the conditions of trust.
"Such a reception at an American military base – with a red carpet, a friendly handshake, Trump's applause, and a shared ride in the US president's car – is already a huge victory for Vladimir Putin," the propagandist believes.
