Unless a miracle occurs, Israel is steadily moving toward destroying what remains of the Gaza Strip.
It has been completely unconcerned with the fate of the hostages since the first day of their capture on October 7th, but it has skillfully used their card to destroy the Gaza Strip. Even if Hamas and the rest of the resistance movements hand them over without any compensation, Israel will not stop implementing its strategic plan, which is to completely destroy the Gaza Strip, so that there will be no place for the Palestinians to live. Consequently, they will start looking for other places, and thus the displacement plan will be realized, ending with the complete liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
It is clear that the Egyptian viewpoint has been proven correct since the beginning of the aggression, which is that the plan for aggression, followed by destruction and displacement, had been in the Israeli drawers for decades. Then came the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, 2023, which represented a golden opportunity for the extreme religious and nationalist right in Israel to implement this plan on the ground, supported by blatant American and covert European support, international silence, and clear Arab impotence.
Objectively, the leaders of this extremist movement have never cared about the prisoners, except for emotional words in front of their families. But when the going got tough, they said that Israel's security and supreme interests were far more important than the fate of these prisoners.
It is clear that the implementation of the Israeli plan will take place in stages, depending on the objective circumstances on the ground, as well as the political circumstances internally, regionally, and internationally.
Therefore, it is most likely that everything that has been circulated regarding the negotiations over the past months was intended to waste time and spread an atmosphere of false optimism in order to lull the families of the Israeli prisoners on the one hand and the Arab, Islamic and international public opinion on the other. This is similar to the American role in deceiving Iran regarding the negotiations, and then everyone was surprised by the Israeli aggression against it, which America joined at the last moment.
It is no secret that Israel has sought and continues to seek, by all means, to displace Palestinians, whether through brutal Israeli force, the inhumane Gaza establishment, or the establishment of so-called humanitarian security zones. All of these efforts aim to confine Palestinians to Rafah in preparation for their expulsion into Sinai.
The attempts to implement the displacement plan began at the beginning of the aggression, and had it not been for the firm and decisive Egyptian position from the beginning, it is certain that the plan would have been implemented, and the issue would have been settled in the first days of the aggression.
Imagine if Egypt had accepted Israel's ideas at the start of the aggression, or Trump's ideas once he was elected. Remember that many of the occupation's leaders, including Yair Lapid - who considers himself a moderate and a dove of peace!! - called on Egypt to play a role in resolving the issue in exchange for canceling its debts. Others publicly called for pressuring Egypt by all means to accept the displacement plan, and we know that Cairo clearly rejected all of this.
Netanyahu and his extremist coalition believe there is a historic opportunity, one that may not happen again, that will allow Israel to achieve what it has dreamed of for decades: Arab weakness, international silence and impotence, and unprecedented American support.
Unfortunately, Israel has achieved dangerous strategic results. It dreams of completing the plan to destroy the Gaza Strip, displace its people, Judaize the West Bank, and liquidate the Palestinian cause through gradual plans, of which it has already achieved much.
The question is: Will it succeed in this to the end, or will we find a minimum level of coordination among the active Arab countries that will stop this plan or at least limit its destructive effects?
