Berlin/Kyiv – On Friday, Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin (72) bombarded the Ukrainian capital with drones and missiles like never before. A cloud of smoke settled over Kyiv, and numerous buildings burned. The Ukrainian armed forces reportedly launched a new attack on a Russian air base in the Voronezh region on Saturday morning. Enemy Sukhoi Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM fighter jets were stationed at the Borisoglebsk airbase, the armed forces in Kyiv announced.
After the Trump administration stopped some arms deliveries to Ukraine at the behest of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth(45), the big question remains:
How long can Ukraine fend off Russian attacks with its current weapons and ammunition stocks alone?
Military expert Carlo Masala (57, Bundeswehr University Munich) emphasizes in BILD:"All weapons systems are critical deliveries for the Ukrainian defense."
▶︎ The expert warns: According to his information, Ukrainian supplies will last until late summer,"after which things will become critical. A critical gap could arise until Europe tries to fill it somehow," says Masala.
For the situation on the ground, this means:"Without Patriot missiles, the kill rate will continue to deteriorate and more missiles will find their way to the target."
Theiner: Without Patriot missiles, Kyiv is at the mercy
And military expert Thomas Theiner also warns:"What threatens Kyiv without Patriot missiles (type PAC-3 MSE) is the destruction of the city."
When it comes to artillery ammunition, Europe can"compensate for the loss of American deliveries, but not for GMLRS and Patriot PAC-3."
According to Theiner, the GMLRS ammunition for HIMARS multiple rocket launchers will last until September – but only with"careful use."
▶︎ With the Patriot missiles, it depends on"how many ballistic missiles the Russians fire at Kyiv – if the number is high, the PAC-3s will be used up within one to two weeks, and then the city and its population will be defenseless against Russian ballistic missiles."
He goes on to say that if the Patriot missiles run out, Ukraine will also have to withdraw other systems, such as the German IRIS-T systems from Kyiv, as these would then no longer be protected from Russian ballistic missiles by Patriot systems.
Theiner warns urgently:"Without these Patriot missiles, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, etc. will all get through – and each missile delivers ten times more explosives to its target than a Shahed drone."
