International Condemnation and Diplomatic Response

Criticism of Netanyahu and Israel's Isolation

During an emergency session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday, the Kingdom of Morocco expressed its strong condemnation of the aggression targeting the sovereignty of the sisterly State of Qatar, considering this attack to constitute a"serious violation of international law and a serious threat to the security and stability of the entire region."

Omar Zniber, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, affirmed that the Kingdom reiterates its absolute solidarity with the State of Qatar in confronting anything that might threaten its security, territorial integrity, and the peace of its citizens and residents. He called on the international community to address this situation with"responsibility and firmness," given its direct threat to regional and international peace.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Morocco emphasized that its vision is consistent with the lofty directives of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, an organization of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He emphasized that the two-state solution, through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only way to achieve a just settlement for the Palestinian people and achieve security and stability in the region.

In this context, the Kingdom reiterated its categorical rejection of the provocative actions and statements issued by Israeli authorities regarding the deportation of Gaza residents, as well as the continued settlement activities in the West Bank. The Kingdom considers these violations to be a clear breach of international law and international humanitarian law, further complicating the prospects for achieving peace.

The Moroccan representative affirmed that his country will continue to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and support international efforts to consolidate peace and security in the region. He noted that any violation of these principles threatens the stability of the entire region and undermines mediation and dialogue efforts.

For his part, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, considered the attack launched by Israel last week in Doha against Hamas leaders who were participating in ceasefire negotiations in Gaza to be an undermining of peace and stability in the region.

In his remarks on Tuesday, Turk said,"The Israeli attack on the negotiators in Doha on September 9 was a shocking violation of international law, an assault on peace and stability in the region, and a blow to the value of mediation and negotiation processes worldwide."

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights stressed that in the face of this aggression against the State of Qatar,"UN member states cannot wait any longer," calling on the international community to halt the flow of weapons to Israel, to immediately cease fire in the Gaza Strip, and to release all hostages.

Qatar called on the UN Human Rights Council to take urgent steps to hold Israel accountable for the recent bombing of Doha.

Qatar's representative to the United Nations in Geneva asserted that this attack constitutes"state terrorism" and represents a "direct threat to regional stability," emphasizing that such attacks undermine diplomatic mediation efforts and further complicate the prospects for achieving peace in the region. The official reviewed Qatar's mediation process, noting that the attack aims to"distort Qatar's role and drag the region and the world into wars."

In international reactions, the Gulf Cooperation Council, speaking on behalf of the State of Kuwait, reiterated its full solidarity with Doha, stressing that"protecting civilians and respecting international law is a collective responsibility that falls on us all," and that "violation of state sovereignty and endangering the lives of civilians are unacceptable and cannot go unpunished."

For its part, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the blatant attack on the State of Qatar, considering the provocative move an undermining of peace efforts in the region, and reiterating its support for all measures aimed at respecting the sovereignty of Qatari territory.
