In a session on Wednesday the 10th, Fux signaled that the vote will be favorable to the defendants – if not for acquittals, then for more lenient sentences. His statement is still in progress.
According to Fux, the complaint filed by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) does not"meet the typicality in light of everything I have stated here and because the elements of the criminal type are not present." "It allows no other path than to dismiss the accusation as to the imputation."
Throughout the week, Cármen Lúcia and Cristiano Zanin , president of the Panel, will still speak. The result of the trial is expected to be announced on Friday, the 12th. The Court's assessment is that the trial of the"crucial nucleus" of the coup plot will conclude ahead of schedule , without the need for the session scheduled for the afternoon.
Bolsonaro and the other defendants are charged with armed criminal organization, coup d'état, attempted violent abolition of the rule of law, damage to listed heritage, and serious damage to federal property. The Attorney General's Office (PGR) has requested the former president's conviction for all listed crimes, which, combined, could lead to more than 40 years in prison. The sentencing will still be determined by the justices if convicted.
