It was not a data leak, but a deliberate attack, a hostile listing, the purpose of which is to instill fear – Péter Magyar stated in his video message on Monday morning.

The pro-government Magyar Nemzet newspaper reported on Sunday that a database containing the names, email addresses and other data of 200,000 people was made public over the weekend. According to the newspaper, the data was leaked from the Tisza Világ app. Péter Magyar responded by saying that “the Tisza Világ app has been under attack by international hackers since its launch, who are clearly behind it Russian services.”

The reliability of the application is a particularly topical issue now, because according to previous plans, the final decision in the internal competition of Tisza candidates in individual constituencies will be made by the party's supporters, via the Tisza Világ application. Originally, they wanted to introduce the 3 candidates in September, but the deadline was changed to November 3"in the interests of the personal protection of our future candidates and the safety of their families."

“I know some of you are scared now. That was their goal. I apologize for that. This is such a horrible system. Let's show that we are standing strong, united, and not afraid”

– said Magyar in his message to his followers, who said that they cannot expect protection from the authorities and the naming and holding accountable of those truly responsible, but after the change of government, “those responsible for political and national security in this matter will face the full rigor of the law.”

According to Magyar, the aim of the entire attack is to stall Tisza's candidate nomination process. But Tisza won't let this happen, they will see the process through, because they have also prepared plans B and C. The script, modified for the second time, now reads as follows:

  • The candidates will be announced on November 17.
  • The first round of voting will be held on November 23-24.
  • The second round of voting, which is open to the public, will be held between November 25 and 27.
  • The winners will be announced on November 30.

After the current incident, the vote will not be held in the app, but on nemzethangja.hu, which was also used in the Nemzet Hangja campaign. The deadline remains the same, and it is assumed that they will still come out with the list earlier than Fidesz-KDNP, which decides on its representatives in “smoke-filled rooms” and not in public voting.
