From the very first minutes, Lassi Tuovi's team showed that their main weapon is three-pointers. In the first half, the Finns hit 6 out of 10 long-range shots, and Mikael Jantunen's three-pointer closed the first quarter with a score of 28:15.

The tandem of Lauri Markkanen and 18-year-old Miikka Muurinen shone brightest in the second half, when the Utah Jazz star hung the ball, and the young talent effectively charged from above. Muurinen soon realized both free throws, but Tornike Shengelia's three-pointer gave the Georgians a brief hope. However, Finland maintained the advantage and after two periods should have been ahead – 57:40.

During the first half of the match, the Finns hit 10 out of 15 three-pointers (67 percent). Sasu Salinas (3/3) and M. Jantunen (3/4) performed well.

Still, in the third quarter, the Finns had a 20-point lead, but at the end of the half, the Georgians began to reduce the gap. Goga Bitadze and Sandro Mamukelašvilis scored points under the basket, and after Mamukelašvilis' interception and two-pointer, the difference melted to 9 points, and before the decisive quarter, the scoreboard read 71:62 in favor of the Finns.

In the fourth quarter, the Georgians were on the back foot, but Miro Little hit three-pointers that were crucial for the Finnish team, and Elias Valtonen's three-pointer gave Finland a 13-point lead 87:74. The Georgian team was upset when Tornike Shengelia earned a technical and unsportsmanlike foul, which forced him to leave the court and go straight to the locker room.

Duda Sanadze's three-pointer tried to give hope to the Georgians: 90:77, however, it did not create intrigue, and Finland confidently finished the match 93:79 and advanced to the semi-finals of the European Championship for the first time in history.

Finland will face either Germany or Slovenia in the semi-finals, which will take place later in the evening at 9 p.m.

The most prominent player for the Finnish national team was 25-year-old forward Mikael Jantunentas, who scored 19 points (4/5 2-pointers, 3/7 3-pointers, 2/2 punts), grabbed 5 rebounds, made 2 assists and collected 19 efficiency points in 33 minutes played. He was well supported by Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen, who scored 17 points (5/7 2-pointers, 2/5 3-pointers, 1/1 punt), grabbed 6 rebounds, made 2 assists and collected 22 efficiency points.

The Georgians were led by a powerful performance by Alexander Mamukelašvili, who had 22 points (6/10 from the field, 2/5 from the field, 4/6 from the free throw line), 4 rebounds and 4 assists, and 22 points. Duda Sanadze added 19 points, Tornike Šengelija 18 points and 18 points.

Finland team: M. Jantunen 19, L. Markkanen 17, E. Maxhuni 15, S. Salinas 14, E. Valtonen and O. Nkamhoua 8 each.

Georgian national team: A. Mamukelašvili 22, D. Sanadze 19, T. Shengelia 18, G. Bitadze 14.

Meanwhile, the Georgian national team also created its own fairy tale when it eliminated the French in the round of 16 drama 80:70 and enjoyed its first historic victory. In Group C, the Georgians ranked fourth, achieved 2 clear victories against the Spanish and Cypriots and lost to the Italians, Greeks and Bosnians.
