In this episode of W News, presented by Jono Hayes, we report on Israeli tanks pushing into southern and eastern Deir al-Balah for the first time since the war in Gaza began. The Israeli military says it believes hostages may be held in the area, which is densely packed with Palestinians displaced by more than 21 months of fighting. Hundreds of residents fled west and south after Israel issued an evacuation order, saying its goal was to dismantle Hamas infrastructure. Local medics say tank shelling hit homes and mosques, killing at least three people and injuring several others.
