“ They put politics before peace.” This is the accusation made by the US against the Swedish committee after the awarding of the Nobel Prize to Maria Corina Machado, an opponent of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela. Steven Cheung, White House communications director, wrote this on X, underlining that “President Trump will continue to make peace agreements, end wars and save human lives.” A merit which is accompanied, the post reads, “a humanitarian heart and there will never be anyone like him capable of moving mountains with willpower alone”.
President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives.
He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will.
The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace. https://t.co/dwCEWjE0GE

The Venezuelan politician, leader of the coalition United Platform (in Spanish Plataforma Unitaria, PU), of liberal-democratic and anti-Chavista orientation, was appreciated by the US president himself in January 2025.

In a January 9 post on Truth, the tycoon emphasized its merits: “Venezuelan democracy activist Maria Corina Machado and President-elect Gonzalez are peacefully expressing the voice and WILL of the Venezuelan people with hundreds of thousands demonstrating against the regime. The large Venezuelan community in the United States overwhelmingly supports a free Venezuela and has strongly supported me. These freedom fighters must not suffer any harm and MUST remain SAFE and ALIVE!”
