Today's talks were productive, but we remain realistic and understand that this is very difficult, he told reporters. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio after a meeting in Miami with representatives of Ukraine, reports CNN.

Rubio also emphasized that the United States wants Ukraine not only to be a safe country, but also to"begin an era of prosperity."

"We want to help Ukraine become secure forever, so that it never faces another invasion again... We want the Ukrainian people to emerge from this war not just having rebuilt the country, but having made it stronger and more prosperous than it has ever been," he noted.

At the same time, Rubio admitted that a lot depends on Russia's position.

"Today was another block, but there is still work to be done on this. And, of course, there is another side here that can become part of this equation," the US Secretary of State noted.

He reported that Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff will arrive in Moscow within a week.

"We also understand her position. We still have a lot of work to do, but today's session was quite productive. We remain realistic about how difficult this all looks," Rubio stressed.
