Jakarta, CNN Indonesia --
Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR Dave Laksono admitted that his party had scheduled a working visit ( kunker ) abroad in the near future.
However, the plan was cancelled following the moratorium announced by President Prabowo Subianto.
"Indeed, there were a number of visits that we had planned, but because of the decision like that, we postponed them all," said Dave at the parliament complex, Tuesday (2/9).
Dave declined to name the location of the overseas working visit he had originally scheduled. When asked about the visit to Berlin, Germany, he also declined to comment.
"Basically, we are canceling all visits," he said.
Dave assured that the moratorium on working visits would not disrupt the DPR's work. He stated that the government would still have representatives abroad, and vice versa, so it would not interfere with the process of gathering aspirations.
"So this moratorium should not be turned into a problem, and should not be turned into an obstacle in carrying out our duties," he said.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto previously stated that the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) would revoke a number of policies for members, including the amount of allowances and overseas working visits.
He ensured that the decision would soon be taken by the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives in accordance with the people's demands.
Prabowo made the statement after gathering the general chairmen of political parties and the leaders of the DPR and MPR at the Merdeka Palace.
"The DPR leaders announced that they would revoke several DPR RI policies, including the amount of allowances and the moratorium on overseas working visits," Prabowo said at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday (31/8).
