It is impossible to immediately close the problem of Russian attacks on Shahedam, but today there are already the first results - domestic interceptor drones are already being used to repel air attacks.

This was reported to Ukrinform by Yuriy Myronenko, head of the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

There is no single universal solution that would instantly close the problem of Russian Shahed. This is a complex and multi-component task, on which both the military and engineers, analysts, IT specialists and manufacturers work daily. One of such elements is domestic interceptor drones, work on which began more than half a year ago. Today we have the first results: these unmanned systems are already being used to destroy enemy Shahed and are being scaled up - production is expanding taking into account the increasing number of attacks from Russia, - he said.

At the same time, Myronenko emphasized that comprehensive counteraction to air attacks using all components of air defense is important.

Artificial intelligence plays a key role in these solutions - both in guidance and in adaptation to attack scenarios. This allows not only to react, but also to get ahead of the threat. However, the effectiveness of this component is possible only in a comprehensive countermeasure. Therefore, other areas are being implemented in parallel: the development of radar coverage, strengthening the anti-aircraft component, deployment of mobile fire groups, involvement of civil aviation in air defense groups. The training of new specialists and the increase in the number of combat crews is also ongoing, - emphasized Mironenko.

He also emphasized that the emergence of new systems to counter drones is not a one-off solution, but part of a comprehensive state program that is already working and will show even greater effectiveness in the near future. We are confidently moving towards ensuring that the system for protecting Ukrainian cities from air terror is not only effective, but also technological, flexible, and scalable to any threat scenarios.

As Ukrinform reported, Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Russian army is increasing the number of air attack means it uses during attacks on Ukraine, in particular, it is talking about strike UAVs and simulator drones.
