The Sahara has always been and will remain Moroccan, declares Serge Berdugo, Secretary General of the Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco (CCIM), expressing the joy and pride of the CCIM at the announcement of this historic decision.

It is with deep emotion that the Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco welcomes the adoption, on October 31, 2025, of the United Nations Security Council resolution, which enshrines the full sovereignty of Morocco over its southern provinces, according to a statement from the CCIM.

By recognizing the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty as the only realistic solution to definitively end this artificial regional dispute, this UN resolution constitutes a resounding recognition of the legitimacy of the Kingdom's rights over its entire territory, it is indicated.

In its statement, the CCIM commends the Sovereign's wisdom and foresight. According to Serge Berdugo, the King's visionary leadership and his active and peaceful diplomacy have, once again, borne fruit, resulting in broad support from the international community for Morocco's position.

Moroccan Jews are proud to reaffirm their unwavering support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

The Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco expresses its profound gratitude to the King for his unwavering efforts and wisdom in defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom. The CCIM also commends the resilience and determination of the Moroccan people, who, for half a century, have spared no sacrifice to preserve their legitimate rights to the Sahara.

Faithful to the sacred values and constants of the Nation and deeply rooted in the millennia-old history of Morocco, Moroccan Jews are proud to reaffirm their unwavering support for the territorial unity of the Kingdom, concludes the statement.
