US seeks location for trilateral meeting President Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky at the end of next week. This is written by CBS News with references to sources.
Speaking to reporters in the White House briefing room, Trump expressed optimism that his meeting with Putin would be"constructive" and said he planned to arrange a personal meeting involving Putin and Zelensky.
"The next meeting will be between Zelensky and Putin or Zelensky, Putin and me," he said.
Two sources familiar with the negotiations told CBS News on Tuesday that the United States is working on a location for a meeting between Trump, Putin and Zelensky, which could take place as early as the end of next week.
As it says Axios, Trump told Zelensky and European leaders during a phone call that his goal at Friday's summit with Putin was to achieve a ceasefire and assess the possibility of a full peace agreement.
According to the publication's sources, the goal of the ceasefire coincides with the interests of the parties, although Putin has previously repeatedly rejected the idea of a complete ceasefire.
Possible meeting between Zelensky and Putin
Previously, the White House suggested that Zelenskyy might arrive in Alaska during the meeting between Russian and US leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
As CNN noted, Zelensky was not named as a participant in the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska, which will take place on Friday. However, according to CNN sources, the White House does not completely rule out Zelensky's participation in some meetings.
A White House official said that Trump remains"open to a three-way summit with both leaders," but that "the White House is planning the bilateral meeting that President Putin requested."
