The train was reportedly traveling from Hamburg-Altona to Vienna with approximately 500 passengers. The attack took place between Regensburg and Plattling. The 20-year-old had apparently attacked and injured several passengers with dangerous objects in a train compartment, a police spokesperson said. According to initial findings, nearby passengers were able to overpower him before police arrested him.
The perpetrator"may have suffered somewhat serious injuries," a police spokesperson said. He is in police custody and receiving medical treatment. Currently, no one is in life-threatening condition.
