Moroccan-Spanish relations are currently experiencing their best historical moment, said Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares on Thursday in Madrid.
During a meeting with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, the Spanish Foreign Minister praised the quality of the cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement from the Spanish Foreign Ministry.
This interview, held on the sidelines of the 13th Morocco-Spain high-level meeting, allowed for an examination of the details and implementation mechanisms of the agreements signed on this occasion by the two officials, the same source specifies.
Deep cooperation
These agreements cover issues such as feminist foreign policy, cooperation between the diplomatic schools of the two countries and the mobility of young diplomats, it is specified.
Albares and Bourita expressed their commitment to continue implementing the roadmap adopted by the two countries in 2022 and their desire to further deepen a relationship of friendship and neighborliness which also extends to the rest of the African continent, the statement added.

In this regard, they discussed co-hosting the 2030 World Cup with Portugal, a major event that offers great opportunities in all areas.
Spain remains Morocco's leading trading partner. In terms of trade volume, the Kingdom was the third largest destination for Spanish exports in 2024, reaching €12.859 billion.
Meanwhile, Morocco ranked fourth as a supplier of goods to Spain outside the European Union with 9.834 billion euros, the statement recalls.
