A collapse that occurred on the evening of December 9, 2025, left 22 dead — including women and children — and 16 injured, according to an initial provisional report.

On the evening of December 9, 2025, at around 11:20 p.m., two adjoining buildings collapsed in the Al-Massira district, in the Bensouda area, according to a statement from the King's Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Fez.

According to the same source, the first building was unoccupied, while the second was hosting a baptism ceremony. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 22 people and left 16 injured, with varying degrees of severity.

An investigation has been opened by the judicial police, under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, in order to determine the causes of the collapse and to establish the circumstances and possible responsibilities.
