The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Hungarian ambassador to Kyiv and handed him a note of protest after Budapest's decision to ban entry to the commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovda (Magyar).

This was stated by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga on the social network X, Ukrinform reports.

"The Hungarian ambassador was summoned to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. He was handed a note of protest in response to Hungary's discrimination against the Hungarian minority in Ukraine, in particular our defender of Hungarian origin, who was banned from entering the country of his ancestors," he wrote.

Szybiga added that the Ukrainian authorities call on Hungary to continue to refrain from unfriendly actions and instead engage in a constructive dialogue, for which Ukraine remains ready.

As Ukrinform reported, the commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdy (Magyar), stated on August 22 that an attack had been launched on an oil pumping station of the Transneft Druzhba oil pipeline in the city of Unecha, Bryansk Oblast, Russia.

On August 28, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that the Hungarian government had banned the entry of the Ukrainian commander into the country due to the attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline.

In response, President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the fact of the ban on entry into Hungary of one of the military commanders, who is an ethnic Hungarian and a citizen of Ukraine.
